The core task of the organisation Africachild e.V., founded in 2005, is to carry out socio-educational projects in Kenya. The association runs the Africachild Village project in the Kwale region in the south-east. The hinterland of this region consists of rural areas that are barely developed. Social upheaval is evident in the form of rural exodus, uprooting, impoverishment, prostitution, corruption and violence. The social situation is particularly threatening for women, especially young pregnant women and mothers. At Africachild Village, pregnant girls and very young mothers (aged 13 and above) who have been rejected by their families are cared for with their children in a village of round huts in the Kwale border region.

Kisiwa Art Farm e.V. is a non-profit association founded in 2021 in Germany with a local Zanzibari NGO called BWECODEO, which supports women in Zanzibar in leading self-determined lives. In Zanzibar, there are few opportunities for women to receive education and employment, as their traditional place is within the family. Traditionally, women marry after school and take care of the family. This means that their chances of leading a self-determined, independent life are very slim. At Kisiwa Art Farm, women are given the opportunity to learn skills in various projects and thus improve their lives in the long term through cooperation that values people and culture. The guiding principles of the farm's work are education, sustainability and independence.
