Engagement Global is Germany’s central contact agency for development policy initiatives and part of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development. In 2017, the Catholic University of Applied Sciences began a partnership with Engagement Global to help students complete internships in countries of the Global South with an emphasis on development policy.
Our International Office selects the placements, which are posted each winter semester. The cooperating organisations include Vamos Juntos (Bolivia), intombi (South Africa), Our Lady of Peace Center (Jordan), La Cuculmeca (Nicaragua) and Smiles Africa Experience (Kenya). The programme’s network of participating organisations is constantly being expanded.
Engagement Global’s programme “Konkreter Friedensdienst NRW” provides participating students with a one-time grant of 950 euros per person. Students also receive preparation and follow-up work for the stay abroad.
