27 September | 10:30 PM

We offer you an exclusive experience at the end of the second day - only for you as participants of the katho congress:

Together we will visit the cathedral at night and let its majestic size and silence take effect on us.

Cologne Cathedral is one of the most important and impressive buildings in the world and almost always the most visited sight in Germany. Around 20,000 visitors a day (around 6,000,000 a year) and many millions of enthusiastic people from year to year could not or cannot be mistaken. During the congress we would like to give you the chance to experience Cologne Cathedral individually during a private guided tour with Canon Rev. Dr. Meiering.

On the evening of September 27 at 10:30 PM you will have the opportunity to visit the cathedral at night and learn many interesting facts during the guided tour.

Final concert by the JugendJazzOrchester NRW

28 September | 6:30 - 10:00 PM

with compositions on the themes of climate change, environmental protection and sustainability

The Jugendjazzorchester NRW (JJO NRW) is a big band for the promotion of young musicians in North Rhine-Westphalia and performs in a classic big band formation: With trumpets, trombones, saxophones and woodwinds as well as a rhythm section with piano, guitar, bass and drums.

In 2022, the JJO NRW announced a state-wide competition for young big band composers and awarded prizes to works in which the composers deal with climate change, environmental protection and sustainability and put facts, images and the associated emotions into musical form. At the end of the congress, the JugendJazzOrchester will perform some of these works in the Audimax of the katho.
