Abstract
Mit einem besonderen Fokus auf seinem Konzept des “neuen Antisemitismus” wird ein Überblick über den Werdegang und die philosophische Lehre des israelischen Bildungsphilosophen Ilan Gur-Ze’ev (1955-2012) gegeben. Im Gegenzug zu “älteren” Formen von Antisemitismus, in denen Juden der westlichen Zivilisation als das ultimative “Andere” gegenübergestellt waren, zielt das Konzept des “neuen” Antisemitismus darauf ab, Jüdischsein und jüdische Ideen wie Auserwähltheit, Elitismus und Einzigartigkeit als das angeborene Böse zu identifizieren, das tief in das unterdrückende, weiße und koloniale Patriarchat der jüdisch-christlichen Zivilisation eingebettet ist. Die Erlösung der Seele des neuen fortschrittlichen Denkers von den historischen Sünden der westlichen Zivilisation bedeutet also, sie von ihrem "Jüdischsein" zu befreien. Sie beinhaltet auch einen Angriff auf die physische Repräsentation all dessen, was in der westlichen Zivilisation falsch ist - den jüdischen Staat.

Dr. Eli Vinokur ist Vizepräsident für Hochschulentwicklung und Akademische Angelegenheiten sowie Leiter der Abteilung für informelle Bildung am Gordon Academic College of Education in Haifa, Israel. Er war Berater des israelischen Vizeministers für Bildung und berät regelmäßig die Abteilung für Gesellschaft und Jugend im israelischen Bildungsministerium. Er war Gastwissenschaftler am Teachers College der Columbia University und an der Oxford University im Rahmen seines Postdoc-Studiums, das durch ein Postdoc-Stipendium der ISEF-Stiftung finanziert wurde. In den Jahren 2018-2020 war er der akademische Koordinator des ersten akademischen Programms zur Erfassung des zeitgenössischen Antisemitismus und der Delegitimierung Israels für Masterstudenten an der School of Tourism der Universität Haifa. This paper will present in broad strokes the professional lifespan and philosophical doctrine of Israeli educational philosopher Ilan Gur-Ze’ev (1955-2012). Major attention will be devoted to his articulation of the concept of "new antisemitism," which seeks to capture the uniqueness of the contemporary form of antisemitism. Compared to "older" forms of antisemitism, which situated the Jews in opposition to western civilization, as its ultimate "other," contemporary progressive thinkers identify "Jewishness" and Jewish ideas such a "chosenness," "elitism" and "uniqueness," as the innate evil embedded deep within the "suppressing, white, colonial patriarchy" of the Judo-Christian civilization. Thus, the redemption of the soul of the new progressive thinker from the historical sins of western civilization, involves cleansing it from its "Jewishness." It also involves an attack on the physical representation of everything that is wrong in western civilization – the Jewish state.
The Author
Dr Eli Vinokur is the Vice President for Strategic and Academic Development, as well as the head of the department of informal (Social and Community) education at Gordon Academic College of Education, Haifa, Israel. He served as a consultant to the Israeli Vice Minister of Education, regularly consults to the Society and Youth Administration at the Israeli Ministry of Education. He served as a visiting scholar at Teachers College, Columbia University and at Oxford University, as part of his postdoctoral studies, funded by a postdoctoral grant from the ISEF foundation. During the years 2018-2020 he was the academic coordinator of the first academic program for counting contemporary antisemitism and Israel’s delegitimization for MA students at the school of Tourism, University of Haifa.
